Planning a Surf/wadefishing trip next week. Looks like I might get blown out. Wave heights 3ft 10-15 SE winds. Wondering if the pier is open might go at night. Otherwise it's the jetties. Been quite awhile since I've been down there.

I think the Surfside Beach pier you are referring to got washed away in a hurricane about a decade ago. You have to go to Galveston Island to find a fishing pier. The Surfside Beach/Freeport jetty is usually productive.

That's a shame they didn't rebuild had a lot of very productive nights there. I'll just have to check the tides may drive in to Galveston one night. Jetties daytime if surf proves to rough or back side of the pass.

Yeah I remember fishing on that pier growing up, I was sad when it blew away, but man I'm sure the insurance and construction costs make that business never make sense, I'm sure.
