Thinking about making a trip to Athens this afternoon, but as it's about a2 hour drive for me, I wanted to see what the water conditions were like post rain? Is it murky? How has the fishing been?

Has Athens ever been Murky? This is a real question, as I have only been aware of the lake for 8 or so years and it seems like it filters run-off pretty well.

Has Athens ever been Murky? This is a real question, as I have only been aware of the lake for 8 or so years and it seems like it filters run-off pretty well. Only above the bridge.

Let’s see the parking lots will be full, you will most likely have your truck or trailer hit by who ever parked next you. The bridge with have 2 boats on each corner and three fishing the open water on each side. Every point will have 2 boats, a few known docks will have several boats parading around them. Lilly pads will be covered in kayaks. Everyone will be catching 100 fish as stated above. On frogs no less. Oh I forgot about the armada of guys chasing schoolies over the humps by the dam.
Then at 9:30 am the jet fleas and pleasure boaters show up and try to kill you.

They used to have really good hamburgers at the ramp/marina....last time I was there was 3-4 years.
Too many peoples...

Too many peoples... It's a new restaurant. More "upscale". But has a good bar and the food is good. Just not sure about the Burgers.
