Bare with me here:

So I've always used Olympic Maximum Honey Gold Exterior Stain and Sealant (oil based) in the past and been satisfied with the result for 4 years. I stained the boathouse last fall and in a couple of months the deck began to fade. I contacted Olympic and they sent me agift card to purchase enough stain for a third application. Now 4 months later it has faded again.

I remember a post awhile back where some here recommended Flood CWF-UV (Honey Gold Transparent penetrating Exterior Wood Stain). I just wanted to see after some time is the stain holding up as you expected?

The money is one thing but the application time is what is the killer. One application on the boathouse is 17 gallons.

What brand of deck stain have you used in the last couple of years and would recommend?

Following....

About to stain my deck so want to see what folks have to say. I’ll make my own thread when the time comes cause I did something I consider unusual when redoing a deck. Hope you figure it out and it sucks the quality control of the product has probably gone down hill.

I have been using the flood for yrs. and on a vertical surface it should easily last 8-10 yrs. flat like a deck figure on 5.

just be sure it is the oil based, I tried the water based on my deck at the lake and don't like the results, it doesn't penetrate like the oil will.

Make sure the wood is dry enough to accept the stain. If not it might be the issue.

Maybe this will help. Expensive but have friends that swear by it!
