I have caught many cats on worms over the years. Cant seem to get bit like I use to. Wondering if anyone else has seen catfish on Palestine a little weak this year.
Also curious about bait. We get access to bluegill and sunfish. Curious if its best live or dead and how long of a soak is normal. 4-8 hours. 12-24 hours?

Lots of people are catching them on Stubby’s Cheesebait. It is in Flat Creek Marina of you want to try it.

I use Danny King Blood Bait. It works really well. I just can't catch anything over 12 to 13 inches long. Is there anywhere on Palestine to Bank fish and catch larger catfish?

Got my best cat on Palestine back in march - almost 10lb blue - caught on strawberry chicken. For some reason my fresh and frozen shad caught very few cats. Been catching a ton of 12-15" blues and channels near the big bridge on minnows while targeting some nice crappie. Last 3 trips - April/May - the sandbass have moved in. Cant catch much else - although I did catch a 6.5lb hybrid on an ultralight rig. With all this rain, I'll probably wait a few weeks before going again. ![[Linked Image]](https://texasfishingforum.com/forums/pics/userpics/2021/05/full-5434-97212-unknown_1.17.31_pm.jpeg)

We went to Texoma this weekend, and had out fresh live and fresh cut shad, but had out two poles with Strawberry Jello and Garlic chicken. First to get hit was the chicken, and outfished the shad all day, that day. Even caught a striper on it. LOL

Come on Z! Give us a better Texoma report than that amigo!. We almost went up there this weekend but my son was sick Friday so we stayed close to home . Which part of the lake we’re y’all fishing? We got our AZZ handed to us. We were fishing the lower part, by Preston Bend. Graphed a lot of schools of stripers, chasing shad, but only one time did we get them to bite. We could graph a lot of larger cats in 40-50 foot, and I drug my baits right in front of them. Couldn't coerce them to bite either. We spot locked over a bunch and suspended baits, caught all but three on chicken. The three came on cut shad. Didn't catch a single one over 3 lbs though, larger fish were there, just couldn't get them to bite. I'm gonna stick to my local lakes now that the spawn is firing up. Thought maybe we could catch a last little bit of the cooler water temps at Texoma, but it was already 72 degree surface temp too. At least catching bait was a breeze, took me two throws to get about 30 five to six inch shad. They were spawning in the two coves by our ramp.

Texoma a beast but I love it. It is by far the toughest lake we fish but easily my favorite. The sheer volume of animal life up there is awe inspiring. The flocks of birds can almost black out the sun at times and the amount of fish that boil around that lake is amazing. God was really showing off when he created that area. I’ve had my tail handed to me plenty up there especially in the winter. One thing Ive learned from fishing up there is if the water is stained from all the rain then you absolutely gotta head up into that muddy water to catfish.

The entire Southern end of the lake was clear as could be. Apparently, a lot of guys are having good luck on the North End fishing the mud lines. I would have needed to stay on that end to fish it, boat is slow and not made for long distance on big, rough, water. And Saturday.....it was most definitely rough. We didn't hardly even see any guides down on our end. I think we saw 2 guide boats the whole weekend, and they were constantly on the move.

First time I took a guide trip up on Texoma was in February several years ago. Went with the best catfish guide ever, Cody Mullenix, Former World Record Holder and all around just a great guy. We took off and went up in the shallows on the far north west end of the lake. We fished in 2 feet of water! I thought to myself "is this right" Next thing I know we boat a 52 pounder. If you know where all the stumps are up there, the fishing is good! I have another friend up there that guides for striper and he says its to the point that he doesn't even book trips on the weekend anymore. He said the lake is just crazy with people on Saturday and Sunday during the warm weather.

I'm gifted with having the easiest winter catfishing lake in North Texas, right in my back yard. Lake Worth will spoil you on catfishing in the winter. Fairly easy most other times too. By the same token, send a bass fisherman that doesn't fish that particular lake out there, especially now through Summer. They'll swear there are no bass in it. LOL.
