They employ more pickers. Its a tradeoff.

I don't fully grocery shop at WM, but to grab a few things I love the self check out. In and out for the most part. Same for HD, Lowes, Target, etc..

In Rockwall the 20 item or less aisle has a least one cashier. Kroger is just as bad. Being single with kids out of house I don't buy much any more so I don't mind the self check as much. I hate the ones filling on line orders. They are always in my way. I shoved one of their carts out of the middle of the aisle once. She said sorry and I said keep your stinking cart out of the way. She asked if I did that on purpose. I said hell yes. She went running off to find a manager.

Walmart+ is where it's at...it's $98.50/yr and they deliver to your door....don't have to deal with people...and I tip $4 to $10 depending on the size of the delivery....Saves me so much time and frustration.

The pickers are the most helpful people in the store. They know where everything is located....including toothpicks

I agree that I like to check out myself also. I feel that I can do it faster than the sloth that would be checking my stuff. I also think its [censored] that there isn't a discount for checking yourself. Products are priced with their employees wages figured in.

Academy needs self check, they are the worst
