He was not really a good college quarterback. He was an exceptional college athlete. Should have been a half back, except that he was such a good athlete it seemed prudent to put him under center where he could touch the ball every play. He was a generational half back that could also throw the ball. His athleticism made him a good college level qb, but actually did him a disservice when he stepped up to the show.
Sheer athleticism can still stand out at the collegiate level, but it gets overshadowed at the pro level.
It won't take long to see if he still has something left in the tank. Until then he will be a good sideshow for Meyers and the Jaguars, a team that could use some additional press.
well said I will add he is one good dude also and lives what he preaches.

There are plenty of great athletes in college, and Tebow wasn't one of them. Ten years ago at the combine he ran a 4.71 time in the 40, with a 4.17 in the shuttle, and a 22 on the Wonderlic.
He has always been inaccurate with a low to mid 60% completion percentage; except when it really matters. The last five minutes of games, his accuracy leaps into the 80% range.
He's not exceptionally fast, strong, or smart; but, he's a winner with a personality that inspires most people.

Nothing but a side show. But, I don't blame him, it's the damn coach's fault and upper management that signed him. You mean to tell me that out of all the good TE's in college football that did not get drafted , they sign this dude? Boy...

If Meyer wants him in locker room hire him as a coach......

He's not exceptionally fast, strong, or smart; but, he's a winner with a personality that inspires most people. Tim Tebow was not a great athlete? I've heard crazier things said in the bunker. Tebow was a 6'3" 250lb ball of pure muscle who could run a 4.7, could plow over any linebacker in the SEC, and could be shifty when needed. And he never got tired; probably ran faster in the 4th quarter of games than he did in the 1st. He could fling the ball a mile, but was not very accurate. He also had a very slow and telegraphed release. It worked in college because he was constantly rolling out on a bootleg/triple option. He was such a running threat that the DB's had to suck in which left receivers all by themselves. Tebow would launch a cannon up into the air and a pack of very fast receivers would run underneath it. You'll never hear me say Tebow was a great quarterback. But he was absolutely an extraordinary athlete.

Makes no sense on all levels. Surely they could have found a position for him on the staff or front office!
Just one more cast!

Is he gonna kneel? Lotta people don't like him because of his kneeling. Unlike many current players he will knee for the right reason. I wish him success, I personally thought he’d make a great fullback. He’s a versatile player that would have had early success in the NFL if he was willing to give up being a starting QB.

Agree to the extent that a fullback with strong leadership skills that can throw the ball is exceptional and rare.

Good for him. I guess he really just wants to get out there and play. He had a nice position where he didnt have to take a hit to make a buck.
