We had a great weekend catching some big ones on Choke! If only the wind laid down a bit we might have caught more. Friday we found them on topwater early in the overflow area along the rock walls. Later in the morning we found them off shore points in 5-15 FOW. Every spot we tried, we caught a few on shaky heads and C-rig. But Saturday was even better... We started along the rock walls around the overflow with topwater poppers/chuggers and caught 20-30 fish until about 9:30am. We caught 2 fish over 6lbs and 2 more over 8lbs, plus a ton of 2-4lb as well. After that we found them with jerk baits and crank baits along the same areas. Others in our group were fishing weightless senko's and chatterbaits with great luck as well.
Overall we had a great time! We stayed at the Choke Canyon Lodge and met some great people as well. It's really too bad that lake is 3+ hour drive for me.
