Been super busy so haven't posted many reports but I didn't book anything for Mother's Day weekend and Crappie USA rescheduled their tourney to Sat so we were able to fish it. Been on the lake a couple times last week and we had to work for our fish and cover alot of water! Caught a few good ones including a 2.55 and a 2.51 but not enough good fish IMO. Tourney day they decided to show themselves and eat! We fished flats and creek channels in 15-25 FOW and our fish were 6-16' down for the most part. Clay and I used hand tied jigs from Slab Syndicate and Jenko Afterburner plastics. Early on black/chart was best and later in the day white/chart and a silver shad color worked best. We tipped jigs some with minnows. Turnout was poor with the weather and the tourney being rescheduled and another tourney going on the same time in LA but with the guaranteed payout it turned out to be a great day! We finished in 1st place with 15.59 and won big fish with a 2.97. It was a 2.77 on our scale and our smallest fish in the stringer was a 1.96 on my scale. I want to thank all of our sponsors who make all this possible and Chuck with Texas Trolling Motor behind Lake Fork Resort for getting me back on the water fast! I tore up the gear box in my Ultrex Thursday eve and he fixed it first thing Friday morning! About to get with David at Shut up and Fish and get my back up TM on order!
