I HAD lots of guns, but lost them ALL when my boat sank going to a hunt on the other side of the lake. Can we please let this joke die already?

I’m not interested in long range, but I will post up another gun because why not? It's a gun thread, post away but long range shooting is really fun. An easy and cheap way to get into it is, pick yourself up a Ruger precision in 22LR. Get a decent scope and shoot that gun at 100 to 200 yards. The steel challenges are tons of fun and becoming very popular at most ranges. FYI, you need to shoot a subsonic cartridge in 22, they just perform better. CCI Standard work very well for me.

What's your long range go to rifle?
I built a 6.5 Grendel, 20" barrel with a Vortex PST 6x24x50 FFP. I can generally set up and be banging an 18x30 silhouette at 800 yards with my first shot. I use Strelok for my D.O.P.E. sheet and load a 123 grain Hornaday SST bullet. If I had to do all over again, 6.5 would be me platform for all my ARs. Why would you want all of your ARs the same caliber? Do the initials “AR†mean Assault Rifle?

Armalite Rifle
My .308 Kimber bolt gun is awesome long range. Longest hog kill with it 325 yards, not too long range but I was proud of the shot. Killed several coyotes and hogs with it over 250 yds. AR10 6.5 CM good hog gun when I get on a sounder at night with thermal it is good to have band bang bang bang bang ability. I wish I had not drank the CM koolaid and bought an .308 AR10 instead.
Currently building an Ar15 6.5 Grendal for stalking hogs , as others said, AR10 is a heavy biatch. Debated between 300 Blackout and 6.5 Grendal, 6.5 Grendal won on ballistics past 175 yards.
Wanted a 300 Hammer but exclusive ammo from Wilson Combat turned me off.
GOD is good!

My 308 ar-10 packs out light. Not much more than my 15’s do. 16†stainless barrel on the dpms g2 design.

.308 for long range and anything pig related.
AR-10 chambered in .308 is the go-to hog gun. Picked up a Ruger American Predator in .308 that I am excited to see how it does. Have the same gun in a .223 and it is a tack driving machine.
Friend of mine has a Savage 110 Tactical in 6.5 CM and that is a nice shooting rig as well.
