Your symptoms sound a lot like the flu.

I find it really odd how the flu doesn’t even exist anymore…

Just like the flu. Some get it and are horribly sick for a week. Others get it and barely have a running nose. I'm in medical and choose not to get the shots for personal reasons. But I know I'm taking a risk, but living is a risk.

Flu is still out there, but cases are way down. Flu is highly seasonal and during peak season folks were doing a good job social distancing and vaccination rates were way up. COVID is definitely still a thing. My neighbor died recently. I finally got a chance to talk to his wife this weekend when I walked some mail over that had accidently made it to our box. I knew he had died, but I didn't know how. He was 52, died of COVID.

According to what I read, the vaccines don't actually keep you from getting the disease - they just reduce symptoms significantly. Maybe that's wrong...?

The below is straight off the CDC web site.

This states both it keeps you from getting the dreaded covid and keeps you from getting as sick. The Vaccines also make you ten foot tall and millionaires with in weeks of getting it also.

BUT YOU STILL NEED TO WEAR YOUR MASK JUST TO BE SURE

Studies show that COVID-19 vaccines are effective at keeping you from getting COVID-19. Getting a COVID-19 vaccine will also help keep you from getting seriously ill even if you do get COVID-19.

COVID-19 vaccination is an important tool to help us get back to normal. Learn more about the benefits of getting vaccinated.

illustration of woman in face mask who received vaccine
COVID-19 vaccines teach our immune systems how to recognize and fight the virus that causes COVID-19. It typically takes two weeks after vaccination for the body to build protection (immunity) against the virus that causes COVID-19. That means it is possible a person could still get COVID-19 before or just after vaccination and then get sick because the vaccine did not have enough time to provide protection. People are considered fully protected two weeks after their second dose of the Pfizer-BioNTech or Moderna COVID-19 vaccine, or two weeks after the single-dose Johnson & Johnson’s Janssen COVID-19 vaccine.

I think it's vital that we all fully believe everything the government and the main stream media tells us. We must totally comply with their advice. The only reason our rights to peaceful assembly and religious freedom were taken, was for our own good.

Biden famously said in the New York Observer, “I mean, you got the first mainstream African-American who is articulate and bright and clean and a nice-looking guy. I mean, that’s a storybook, man.”

Have another buddy that was admittedly stubborn as well. Didn’t do any prevention and lived as he wanted. He contracted Covid and passed on the 28th of April.

The vaccine would eradicate it if people weren’t so stubborn, and being ANTI-VAX wasn’t cool to so many.

They are safe and effective, so I didn’t hesitate when my county announced vaccines were available for anyone that wanted it.

No idea why people refuse to take the vaccine, it's proven safe, to each his own, but I did my part in helping to get rid of this stupid china virus.

I was listening to CNN for a short period of time this morning, the talking head actually said viruses don’t know boundaries. Then he had to correct himself and say orange man bad three times to absolve himself from his sin.
