Which anglers benefited the most when the majority of the top BASS anglers left for the BPT?

I think some benefitted and some have fallen off the radar on both tours since the split. The guys winning now were still pretty consistent even against the old guard. BASS also got some great new talent in guys like New, Welcher and Livesay. I think many of these new guys would hold their own against the old stars.

Might have to elaborate on the question more, it’s pretty broad. As of right now, all of them benefited. The old guard had the system plugged and it was too hard for new guys to get their foot in the door.

Could ask, which anglers that left BASS, have not benefited? That’s way easier to answer.

I think you'll see more headed back in the next 2 years. I think I read their contracts were for 3 or 4 years

I think if they want to return to the Elites that BASS will make them requalify.

isnt that what BASS said when they left? Aside from the exemptions they have in place seems like they are sticking to that too. Gonna get pricey for some to make it back I think

The days of one guy to beat are pretty much over. Like Mark says, these new guys can hang with the old guys. There aren't many secrets out there and when someone gets on a mini run it doesn't seem to last like old vintage KVD days. Wheeler is pretty close now but every body thought Thrift was there to. Don't see to many of those runs sustainable because of the quality of anglers out there. We will see, but it's fun to watch anyways.

I believe so too, too many guys doing it the honest way through the Opens for BASS to risk the backlash of letting a pro from the BPT back.

Some that left were not winning. They probably miss the guys perennially at the bottom.

I liked MLF before when they were kinda like the extra season for the "best of the best" where they had a different format, and different things that were fun to watch as a non pro/casual observer.....specifically the secret lakes with no information and also the big numbers of fish caught at times. i think casuals can relate more to that kinda stuff.

I didnt follow much to begin with but still stumble on BASS in my web searches/surfing....but I tell you, this year at least I only hear about MLF when you all post about it in here. Being on FS1 definitely helps since i see the commercials when i watch First things first, and Undisputed every morning

Many have the ability to qualify through the opens, most of them are far above your year to year guys trying to qualify, skill wise.

It gave a lot of guys the illusion/ delusion they could compete and live the dream... It's gonna shake out here in the next year or two... Then the next crop will get their shot... Dan
