Home depot rents ladders and scaffolds and they're reasonable. When you account for the rental cost, time and risk, it might be better to hire an electrician.

Is there attic space above it? If so, try to get in there and re-secure the light then use pole from below again. Or sell house and move We’re going to try this first. He just moved in. Now he knows why the house was for sale.

Or a 14’ A-frame ladder.
Just move all of the furniture out of the way.
Best investment I ever made was in one of those Little Giants adjustable step ladders many years ago when they were not so expensive. House we are currently in has 2 smoke detectors that are 16-18 feet up the wall. Hate high ceilings, but it is what it is.

How many _______ does it take to change a light bulb? All of them This is it... In our youth we would have done this. Now I look at it and think we shouldn’t do this anymore.
