I’ve been a professional guide on Lake Texoma for 27 years this is the first to ever have this happen...
We knew we had to battle the wind early so I ran up to where I’ve been catching some good fish we put some fish in the boat and then we ran back closer to the marina to prepare to fight the battle of the wind. Well it’s going good and we’re catching lots of fish and one of my customers set up on a 7’2” medium heavy spinning rig 3000 series six gill with 40 pound braid and Fish completely dumps spool!! I try to tighten the drag it’s already crank down and before we can do anything about it we reach end of spool. After a brief tug with every bit of line out now the line breaks at the spool and right before it escapes the rod I grab it with my hand and I have a hold of it and we hand line in a 20 pound plus BEAST!!!!!!!
Definitely going to make it in one of the chapters in my book one day!!!
