I'm sorry you went through that. One of my best friends had had at least 30 in the 27 years that I've known him. I spent the night with him at JPS one time because his wife had to stay at home with their toddler daughter...I wasn't about to leave him at JPS alone. Good thing, because they were gonna put him on a bed next to the nurses desk. When I said I was staying, they magically found him a private room.

Kidney stones sound painful as all get out and I'm glad you got rid of it and the infection. Stay healthy!

Had a guy that worked for me get one during a new store opening. I had to drive him to hospital. He was writhing in pain and twisting and flopping around like a fish. Didnt know the town well but found hospital. Took a wrong turn and was a block away. I told him I'd circle around. He jumped out of car like a mad man and went running the last block through people's yards like a mad man to the ER. I felt kinda bad for him

Dang I thought I had the record at 13, guess not. The last one was 6mm or so it came out with only an hour of pain and vomiting. The one prior in 2017 was 14mm and they had to go up my boy and get it. I was under so no pain during the procedure but the pain of peeing blood afterwards was a whole nother level of pain.

I had 2 in the days before lithotripsy and second one blocked and locked in my right ureter so open surgery. There was no DaVinci then either. Urologist -rest his soul- got me into Mineral Metabolism program at UTSW and after a 5 hour Paratyroidectomy at Parkland I have been stone free to the best of my knowledge for 36 years. They are a terrible affliction! Mine were Calcium Oxalate and paratyroid is what controls the amount of calcium that is absorbed from food. 4 tiny glands and the doc had done more of them than anyone in the world at the time. Removed 2 that were abnormal. Rest his soul also.

You guys are making me feel better! Some of you had mine X100. The young buck looked at me and called what it was by the sweat, crossed eyes and forward lean so I figured this was pretty common. I've been Mr. H20 for a whole 12 hrs. now. wink

You REALLY would have been shocked then. I guess they've had some staffing turnover in the last year or so the old reviews and the new reviews seems like two different hospitals. It also seems like some of the floors are fantastic and the waiting room/ER seems to have the childish antics. But hey, if you make more money at home on bailout money then you take what you can get. I have zero hard feelings, they were busy. It was the attitude at Baylor that will bring me back. Wait..... Not bring me back. Recommend them to others and heaven forbid, bring me back. wink

I’ve had a stone before and found from your tale of pain and infection I had it easy. The worst I’ve had recently was a UTI that made it feel like I had an overwhelming urge to pee. This happened to about twice a minute before I got to the doc. Luckily the meds he gave me had that part resolved within a day. To feel like you’re gonna piss yourself every minute was very uncomfortable but obviously nothing on the scale you experienced

Oh yeah, they did an ultra sound of my testicles for a diagnostic tool with my stone. That was a first for me. Right down to the gel and the gliding the scanner around for a clear picture. That was a weird experience

Greenville is fast becoming east Oak Cliff if you didn't know.....I almost won't go over there unless I'm getting paid to.....so the hospital is equally parkland esque

Yeah I'm shocked. We had both of our kids in Presby Rockwall and it was fantastic. But times change and the last one was almost 7 years ago so that's good to know. We did go to Baylor for an issue this year (head laceration) that required stitches and they were really great from start to finish.

Still, don't go to the Greenville hospital....
