Spun aluminum wheels can be the devil. Lug nuts, wheel center, unseen cracks from past accidents,....sometimes they just come apart. Good luck with the investigation, but get her back out there as soon as possible and.....good luck to both of you. Thanks HasBen. Always appreciate your encouragement. We run spun aluminums to help pull grip out. We did have a couple of pretty good accidents on them. Didn't think to check the rims for cracks. Thanks for the advice.

Better to happen in practice vs race day
call it what you will...he is not definitely not anywhere near the top of the list for QB's that I would choose needing a FG or touchdown drive late in the game.

I'm neither a mechanic nor a racer, but the engineer in me is asking if the lug nuts were torqued to specs? I could see over torqued causing stress cracks and under torqued allowing movement which would lead to cracks.
