I thought they are going to copy merc and go to a v8 platform. Guess hp is hp, wether it’s 6cyl or 8cly though. To me V8 really makes no sense, everybody from road vehicles to auto racing are moving to less cylinders not more.

Has that Yamaha VMAX motorcycle vibe. i just ordered a new 200 Merc. No regrets after seeing this tho. Sure they are both fine machines.

Higher charging amps and a separate lead out to charge trolling motor and electronics battery is a nice add. My 2004 F-150 Yamaha has that. It’s not new. I figured they would have done something REALLY new, if they were gonna redesign the entire housing. I miss my old F series motor. Put 1000 hours on that thing and literally the only thing I ever did to it was the scheduled maintenance and replaced 1 sensor. Sure can't say the same for my SHO. The SHO has been an ok motor but nothing like my F series.

I am a Yamaha guy.........Overdue and I like it. The Merc's have grown on me as well, especially when you hear one crank up...................Dang they sound good!!!
Everything on your bass boat is broken......You just don't know it yet.
