Because you forfeit your 4th amendment right. Cops don't need probable cause if you hold a LTC. "I'm looking for a handgun" is all they need.

I've had my LTC for 21 years. Been traffic stopped, no problems. But then, I don't have a 5 mile long rap sheet either.

I don't either. I still don't want some cop going through my car. You're a good sheep. When your generation dies off, the world will be a much better place.

I will renew mine as well. Not a sheep, LTC is needed in other states and I travel a lot. When our generation dies off this world will the pits of hell.

Why would they go through your car? You get pulled over you hand the cop your CCL and they ask do you have a gun. You say yes and the cop will ask to see it unloaded. You hand it to him. What or why would they need to search your car.

I have handed the CCL many times and they just hand it back, nothing happens. The thugs or people trying to hide something or acting odd will be check, us olds are very respectful and do what is asked so we have no problems with the cops. The young thugs are the ones worried about getting their car searched.

I for one will be glad to be gone so we don't have to listen to the young thugs insults or telling us they we be glad when we are gone. The last generation with the balls to fight and work.

Cops have to have probable cause to pull you over... you have to have been breaking the law while driving for them to pull you over... they just can't say i think he has a gun.. .. duh..... come on man!!

In the 20+ years I've had a CCL/LTC I've been stopped about 5 times. Not once did they ever ask to see my weapon or ask me to unload it and hand it over. And they never searched me or the vehicle nor did they ask to. Oh, and out of those 5 or so stops, I got 0 tickets.

Car jacking is going to be risky business...

I should point out my main pistol in my car is right by my leg and the cop could see it. I have only had too handed it to them a few times. I have been stop more than 50 times in last 20 years of driving. heavy foot. I have had them ask me most of the times if I had a gun in the truck many of those times. I live in Wyoming and most everyone here has guns the cops expect everyone has a gun.

All they need is your LTC. Think about it, Hop. You get pulled over by some angry police officer, who thinks you're racist because you're white. "I needed to secure his weapon" is all they need to search. Is this not the case?
