Anyone fishing it for striper? Fishing Buchanan tomorrow but looking for an alternative for Saturday morning in case the weather guys are correct. I will be launching in a protective cove on Buchanan and can fish behind the islands. I just hate for the wind to limit me.

Fortunately the winds did not come up until late on Friday. Saturday was a different story. Wind hit about 8 and started gusting to 30+. XI5 held anchor but was running hard. Buchanan can get nasty in a 30 mph south wind. Fortunately we found a protected ramp and bait was easy.

Ive caught stripers on Inks below the dam where Buchanan spills into it. Be sure to use your electronics up there. It’s quite shallow in areas and it’s all solid rock bottom. If you go early, a lot of people have green lights under their docks that might have fish under them. I caught a nice one early one morning on top water.
