Are the lights getting dimmer in the lumber dept., or are my eyes getting weaker?

They probably dimmed them so you couldn't see the prices

On that off topic side note, I do have the dvd box set of Combat. Loved watching Rat Patrol too.

expect a continued lack of light to the ol retinas.

Figure it's on purpose. I've always hated picking out lumber at Lowes. Recently I dug through a pile of 2x6's and gave up. I went down to get some other lumber I needed, including a few sheets of panel siding (SmartSide). Being stubborn, I stopped on the way out to give the 2x6's a final try and picked out a few acceptable ones (my standards had lowered significantly.) So, I'm finally waiting in line (I've been there an hour already) but we are moving along fine until the checker lady thinks the panels might be Hardie. No ma'm. They're not. Well she couldn't find it in her book and no stickers were on any of the sheets. So we walked all the way back together and squinted our eyes to see there were no numbers on any of the sheets. So she took down a number on a sticker on one of the metal racks. I guess they should issue their people flashlights because It was the wrong number. Of course it was. I then went to the truck, got my phone, went to the Lowe's site to show her what she was selling me. Of course, when I got back in there, the crowd decided to all check out at once. This put me with a new checker, but I was ready this time. I had my phone. Well I finally got out of there, and after my eyes had adjusted to the light, I noticed just how bad those 2x6's were. Oh well, nothing that a couple of hours on the jointer and planer won't fix.
