Been watching this red breast build his nest for about a week now and finally today the female shows up and they start spawning right before my eyes. I guess im a voyeur now roflmao roflmao roflmao

Leo you should get a job with National Geographic as a photographer. Rare sight indeed. I have seen that several times over the years only by accident. Right place, right time, equals a great picture. cheers

coolphotos What I have found out over the decades is that when you are outside fishing, a lot, you get to see cool stuff. And you seem to be out a lot of the time. partyon

Agree, those are Longear.

This is what I consider a longear [Linked Image]
This is what i consider a red breast [Linked Image]
The longear is from Amistad. The red breast is from the west prong. This is the same kind of fish on the nest. You can't see the red in the pics but with the naked eye I can see its breast is very red

The first picture is a Redbreast. The second picture is a Longear-Hybrid . thumb

Thanks Laker! It was really neat to see nature in progress. There were actually 2 nest the other is a few feet away and the pair in that one we mating also.

Side note: I'll see them this morning and am going to check if the female is still in the nest hmmm
