Isn't the lake built on a tributary of the Sabine? Yes I know not the Sabine itself but a tributary.

The creek that is dammed to form the lake is actually called "Lake Fork Creek". It was called that before the lake was built. And it is a tributary of the Sabine.

The Sabine River flows out of Lake Tawakoni and Lake Fork feeds into it farther down stream ![[Linked Image]](https://texasfishingforum.com/forums/pics/userpics/2021/05/full-66201-95047-sabinebasinmap.jpg) .
