When I was a kid we went to Balmorhea a couple times when I would go to my dads in Midland. I remember it was clear and cold and pretty.

I’ve got a book that was recently updated, this year, called Swimming Holes of Texas. It is loaded with swimming holes across the state.. our goal is to try to hit every hole in the book.. but so far, Jacob’s Well is my favorite or the Blue Hole. That’s my kinda [censored] for sure.

I grew up in that part of the world and have good memories of that pool. I also like floating the South Llano river at the sate park just southwest of Junction. I took the family there many times, we always had a fun time.

We used to skip school and go to The Blue Hole around Jasper in East Texas. I hear it is on private property now and not accessible. It was an old quarry. https://daytrippintexas.com/blue-hole-east-texas/
