The South Texas rain thread got me thinking.

What's yalls favorite swimming hole in Texas? Mine are:

The Frio River. Garner State Park.
Little swimming hole in Utopia, TX
Nueces River at Camp Wood

Absolutely love swimming in South Texas.

Y'all?

When I was a kid we went to Balmorhea a couple times when I would go to my dads in Midland. I remember it was clear and cold and pretty.

I’ve got a book that was recently updated, this year, called Swimming Holes of Texas. It is loaded with swimming holes across the state.. our goal is to try to hit every hole in the book.. but so far, Jacob’s Well is my favorite or the Blue Hole. That’s my kinda [censored] for sure.

2nd vote for Balmorhea. I grew up in that part of the world and have good memories of that pool.

I also like floating the South Llano river at the sate park just southwest of Junction. I took the family there many times, we always had a fun time.

Balmorhea was just too cold for me. Now Barton Springs and all the UT chicks can't be beat

The falls at Colorado state park we’re pretty neat too, but it was a decent hike.

We used to skip school and go to The Blue Hole around Jasper in East Texas. I hear it is on private property now and not accessible. It was an old quarry.
