Depends on the application. I usually tie a loop in the braid first (like a spider hitch knot), then use the doubled braid to go uni-to-uni to the mono.

Doesn't take but a minute or two.

Do you have a step by step print out of it?

I use double uni since it's the easiest for me but the alberto/albright and fg are better knots.

Try the Yucatan knot. Here is a step by step tutorial.

I'm a big fan of the FG knot. Very strong and almost flush to the diameter of the mono. Glides right through your guides as if there isn't a knot there.

The FG knot is great, but it still got caught up in my guides.
I realized that although it's thin, it's three or four times longer than any other knot.
It created a stiff section at the top of the leader that would hang up on the guides way too often.

It wasn't worth the time and effort to me, so I switched to an Alberto knot. The Alberto is much smaller overall and is much quicker and easier to tie.

I saw someone tie a knot that started with a figure 8. It was used to tie a leader. If anyone knows this knot it would help me and the op. Thanks

I was going to recommend the double Uni Knot because itโ€™s so easy to tie and is a super reliable knot but ....

I also use double uni ,

Might have to practice , but that will be necessary with any knot.
