What have you guys seen in rigging costs?
With hourly rates in the $125+ range and a couple of days work.
Does $2500 - $3000 seem about right?

That's pretty pricey.
It really depends on if you're changing brands or not.

In full disclosure.... I needed
Previous Engine and all wiring, cables hoses etc. removed
New Suzuki Engine Mounted to Jack Plate (Purchased 2021 200Hp 4 Stroke Motor from Other Dealer)
New Harness ran and connected to New In-Dash Multi-Gauge
New Fuel Senders (Dealer Provided & Installed)
Hot Foot Cable ran and connected ( I provided HF & Cable)
Hydraulic Steering Re-Connected ( Was new and already in place)
New Flush Side Mount Control Box Installed ( I Provided)
New Kill Switch and Starter Switch ( I Provided)
Oil, 740$ Suzuki WaterGrip Prop $50 Gas and Misc. pieces totaled Tax all = $1300
Total Bill was $4690 with $2900 in Labor.
Lake test to ensure everything worked.
Took them 3 days, Cost not Time seems Excessive.

I don't like to burn any service guy, and some boats are way easier to rig out than others.
What boat did they do the work on?

I'm happy with it, just shocked I was informed about the 2900 labor bill.

Converting to Suzuki from a more mainstream brand ?

8 hrs too light , you’d regret that quote Gary for that list.

But 25 hours pretty stout

Typical full saltwater ready single engine rigging was 17 hours. Which is several hours more than a freshwater bass boat rigging.
If it took that long they had noobs doing it.

2900 is excessive.
i know it's alot of work rigging a ranger due to the rigging tubes in the gunnels.

more like 1500 to 1700 is fair. (15-17 hrs)

I recently had my 1982 Boston Whaler Sport 15 engine replaced. Went from a 1983 Johnson 50 HP to a 2020 Tohatsu 60 HP 4 stroke motor.

Cost of rigging, including pre-installation dealer inspection was $ 850. That cost included a new remote control binnacle, wiring, cables etc. It also included cost of Tach and water pressure gauge installation. That was at Coastal Marine in Rockport Texas. It was a neat and tidy installation job. All rigging was run under the starboard gunnel, so no pulling wires or cables through a tube or tunnel was necessary. I got a very good deal on the motor too.

They quoted me a flat rate bottom line cost without even seeing the boat. I think everybody came out smelling like a rose. I'm very pleased.

Not yours, the one saying he thought his bill was excessive.
Glad you were happy with yours.

It was a time and material job but only. Line item for labor with no hourly rate shown or hours worked, simply $ 2900
