When AEP built the Turk Plant up in Fulton, Ark. they said it would be the last coal fire power plant they built in the US of A. I spent a year plus there helping build the the fly ash silo, scales, fly ash landfills and roads. The hoops they had to jump through were unbelievable. On a side note, utilities are sell there power plants to the Chinese. They are being disassembled and shipped to China where they are then put them back together and fire them back up... Plants our gov't have deemed noncompliant... Makes you wonder... Dan

ERCOT called for conservation on April 13th due to concerns over the imbalance between supply and demand.
Oh, and by the way that is not a typo..........April 13, 2021,not the deep freeze of February. How is that for infrastructure?
Getting more like a third world country every day.
Better get that Boy Scout Handbook out and prepare to be self sufficient.

It is an issue, but that was due to all the planned outages that go on every spring. It wasn't from high demand.

Agree, but doesn't that seem like the reserves are a bit low?
What is the level of reserve capacity if we were to hit a high temperature in May for example.

When there are "planned outages that go on every spring", there is something terribly wrong with the grid.
