Hello, I have never been fishing in Costa Rica and have a trip scheduled for June. We will be wanting to target Dorado and Marlin. Does anyone have any insight on charters for the area? We will be flying into Liberia and will be staying in the Guanacaste province. And help would be appreciated.

call and see which ones are still going out, pretty much any of the guides on the west coast can get you hooked up, depends on which species is in the area mostly.

I fished the east coast for tarpon, went for about 18-20 yrs. and bad guides do not last more than a couple of months, if they have been there a while they do something right.

best I can do ya, went out twice but over 20 yrs. ago. also ask the place you are staying which guides do best, they are normally pretty honest since they get an equal cut from the guides.

I fished with Fish Tale 2 out of Papagayo Marina and had a great trip for Dorado. I was there in October and the billfishing wasn't on at that time, but it's a great charter and and area.
