Anyone ever shipped a boat cross country? Found a smoking deal on a boat in the north east. Inspection checked out so Iām looking into ways to get it to Texas. Would love some advise.

Don't know about the transportation, but out of state titles or lack thereof for the motor, trailer, boat etc. can be a headache that you do not want. My son in law went through the nightmare buying one from Arkansas. The titles and bills of sale, liens etc. need to be perfect in order. Just an FYI.

Neighbor of mine sells pontoon boats. One customer is shipping a Bennington pontoon to Greece.

Hire a transport company. Have a friend that bought a boat from North Carolina and the guy that brought it to him transported it for about 2.5% of the cost of the boat (new boat).
Advice? Wise men don't need it. Fools won't heed it.

what size boat?
there are companies that have specific trailers for the larger ones, a flatbed can haul a bassboat or pontoon easily.
coming from the ne you should be able to find a decent rate since loads out of there are not always easy to get.

My advice is to go to the tax office and tell them exactly what you are about to do. Have them give you all of the correct forms and have them mark on each form where the seller needs to sign. Get those signed and back in your hands and MAYBE it won't be too big of a hassle getting the titles switched to Texas titles.

Me and my dad went thru hades trying to get my boat legal. It's like they were looking for reasons to deny it. I pulled the boat there 3 times and finally my dad had them give him the forms marked and we had to fill them out and fedex back and forth. It took us 5 trips and over two weeks to get this done

It will cost you half that just in gas. Iām in if it involves cashiers checks, and cash paid to the shipping guys.
