I follow the Instagram account @houstonflyfishing, and he's got some edgey flies going on. He posted the "flypala" a week or two ago, and that got me going down the rabbit hole of the Blane Chocklett Gamechanger system. I bought the book, and some of the weird materials he's using and tried my hand. Some of these I used substitute materials, because I really just skimmed the book and didn't pay much attention to the niceties of the tying instructions, but here's some of the stuff I put together:

One of the segmented gamechanger flies:

First attempts at the flypala:

The sili skin flies, gummy minnow and gummy spoon:

I haven't had the chance to go anywhere with fish big enough to eat these flies, but one of my little pond friends gave it a try:

Just kidding. Thats all i catch when I go out wading in the Pedernales.
Thanks for sharing. I’ll have to check out houstonflyfishing. The flypala looks intriguing.

I'll let you know if the flypala actually wiggles. I'm trying all of them out on Fayette tomorrow. If it does, then it's the mother load, a fly with crankbait action, wouldn't ya think? Sort of the quizat haderach of fishing lures.

Here's some more of the gamechangers: a better version of the minnow, and woolly bugger on a segmented body:
