In response to hopalong's post where the quote depth hit 4:

I believe that only US citizens can buy firearms. Even IF you are a US citizen, it's often an issue to buy a firearm in a state that is not your home state. So, someone who walks across the border isn't quite covered by "our" (meaning legal citizen) rights yet. As for the Hitler, Manson, and BLM do-bad types, they will carry anyway. They already do. Another example: the 13 year old kid that played stupid games.....had a handgun in his hand a fraction of a second before he was shot. I'm thinking he didn't have a LTC. Dropping the requirement only applies to people who intentionally obey the law. It was, and still will be, the carrier's responsibility to know when and under what circumstances it may be used. Getting the LTC never absolved anyone of that.
