We were just discussing used trucks are so expensive. Well my 2017 Silverado Z71 was just stolen. Only had 25,200 miles. Hope they don't find it. Never know what they did to it. I really liked that truck. Just had the transmission serviced and truck detailed. Looked and drive like new. Guess I'll be calling Monte.

I had my truck stolen right out from under me one day I decided to leave it running while I ran into the gas station to get something real quick (Jackson MS). I was sick about it, as it was low mileage then too, was already shopping around and wasn’t happy. 3 weeks later the detective called me and said they had my truck at a police station 2 hours away and that nothing appeared wrong except it was dirty. The story behind it was pretty interesting and like you, I thought I would not like being in it afterwards. Well when I got back with it, I pulled the bs tint they put on it off, and started back driving it. That was 2013 and am still in it with 232k. Maybe you’ll get it back don’t give up hope.

Did he suggest a way to keep it from getting stolen? I thought with all the high tech "chip" tech in the trucks... it would not be that easy?

I had a vehicle stolen years ago, the police found it and called me. They told me it was virtually unharmed but it had a flat tire. When I went to the impound yard to look it didn’t have a flat tire, it didn’t have any tires, wheels, seats, stereo, sunroof or gear shift knob. It was completely stripped.

The impound lot probably stripped it.

I got a call from the sheriff at 2:30 in the morning one time, said we found your truck. I told them my truck was in the barn, they must have the wrong number. They didn't.
The only reason they ever found it was because when they drove it off in the Arkansas River they left the lights on and the tail Iights were still shining and barely sticking out of the water.

That's bad. I recall within the last year seeing video of a bass pro's entire rig being taken during the night; that would be the ultimate bad month.
