Looking at my Navionics maps, Lake Ivie appears to have some really good structure that will hold white bass. Does anyone have any intel on main lake structure fishing? Not looking for anyone to give up spots, just asking if structure fishing is good on Ivie once the spawn is over.

We catch them over by the dam spill gates. There is a large flat and we wait for them to school on top then wear them out with anything shinny that runs close to the surface. I have caught a few this year with suspending jerk bait. in 18-20' of water but the best time is May through July. good luch.

Thanks for the tip. We will try it out. Any luck on structure when they are not schooling?

I am eager to go try that lake out soon but just a bit further than I like driving. I hear they do hang out on structure there just as you would expect white bass to do. Numerous underwater humps and points to chose from in the main lake and midlake area. I hear they are quality and quantity down there as well. Lots of 15-17 incher according to my buddy who went with a guide.

Humbling 24 hrs on Lake Ivey this weekend. Never been on that lake, tried the flats and structure around the dam like was suggested above as well as most of the significant structures and edges of flats all the way to mid lake. Managed 2 crappie and one drum is all. Heck of a deal, all of the humps/structure I thought would hold fish was covered in brush 7-10 feet tall from years that the lake was really low. The weather didn’t help things much either, east wind with rain on Saturday evening and E/SE wind this morning getting pretty choppy. Water temp was only 72 when we left at 11:00 this morning.
I catch and release LOTS of white bass at Lakes Waco, Whitney and Cedar Creek so know how to find fish on structure but this lake was a totally different look.
I’m going to wait for the water to warm up and the weather to get into the normal pattern before I go back to try it again.
If anyone has fished Lake Ivey for white bass, what tactics did I miss? Any advice would be appreciated.
