I catch quite a few of these lately and I’d like to know what kind of Gill it is?
They fight pretty for their size-

Nice ones Steveiam.

First pic is a Bluegill/Green Hybrid.
2nd pic is a pure Greenie.

I see lots of these hybrids when pond fishing, they are normally big like your fish. BG/Green Hybrids grow fast (BG aggression with a much larger mouth), they have a tall body shape like a Bluegill, their coloration (especially the fins) and large mouth are like a Green. Have seen many caught by people targeting Bass.

Good observation Andrew. The Bluegill are experts on Hibernizing. I see hybrid also. thumb

Thanks for the info, I have a creek that runs on the side of my place that is fed from overflow from a pond nearby.
Some parts of the creek dry during dry months but there are spots that always seem to have water.
I just had a pond dug and I’ve been catching these and throwing them in the new pond, they are a ton of fun to catch.
Hybrid huh, I wouldn’t have thought that, good info.
I do enjoy catching them for sure.

Awesome, enjoy the stocking. What else is going in your pond?
