For all the Berkley Big Game mono users I have a question. Do you think Berkley has improved Big Game mono over the past 30 years or do you think it is the same line that you bought 15 to 30 years ago? I've read articles about new innovations in mono, but I haven't read anything on Big Game.

Same and I still can’t break it (I use 20#). Tried many others and came back to it.

I have used Big Game for at least 25 years. When I hang up the 20# I have to wrap it around a cleat and use the troll motor to break it.
I don't know if they have ever changed it. It works so I use it.

IDK but I've used it for 30+ years and still love it.

Been using it and will keep using it. I did buy some of the H2O stuff and it’s just not the same.

It seems exactly the same to me. A spool of Big Game is about as good a value as you'll ever get.

Big Game mono is one of the best monofilament lines you can get and it is cheap. But, after I tried McCoys Mean Green I have never bought Big Game sense then. McCoys is a copolymer line and it is more expensive than Big Game but it is worth it. It has way less memory and it is strong.

I tried McCoys and it would randomly bind in my Curado? No other line I've had on that reel did the same thing. Wonder why?
