I have been out on cedar creek and Richland Chambers, every palm I see is history. I don’t what a full grown palm costs to be transported and planted but there is a guy on RC who will take a huge hit.

Palm trees have more mojo than bluebonnets...let’s keep the discussion rolling.

The 10 or so I see every day driving to work and back don't look like they're coming back. Neighbor behind me has 3 and they all look dead. That said. Like a 100yrs ago a buddies great grand parents brought in what I believe is Texas palmettos. They have spread all over their land. Not one of them died.

2 of my 4 medjool palms have green shoots coming out the top. I was sure they were dead, but the green just started to show in the last week or so. My sago palms also started to show signs of life in the last week or so. Even my birds of paradise made it. The roots survived and have started putting up new green shoots. The only thing I think I lost for sure are my citrus trees. They appear toast.

All of our palms didn't make it. I'm in the process of removing them. I'll be playing taps as I take a chain saw to them.

I don't have any but the half dozen in my neighbors back yard along with a live oak didn't make it.

How do you know they are dead? I would have sworn mine were dead until a week ago.

Not sure about palms, but my third live oak is finally showing a few sprigs of green, the other two are mostly greened up

My live oak came back strong. It was looking terrible.

The answer is simple. He watched and waited...then about a week ago when his didn’t come back, he knew they’d given up the ghost.

Mine looks dead. It is a big one with almost a 3' diameter base. I have been watering it this week hoping for some green sprouts to come out the top. I will probaby cut it down in June if it doesn't show any life by then. I don't plan to replace it.
