Pretty sure this is a freshwater drum...just looking for verification. He was a hog. Yes, that is a freshwater drum aka gaspergou, gou or sheepshead (north of mason dixon)

It is a freshwater drum, Aplodinotus grunniens. The state record is 44 pounds, so they get big. That is a nice one and I bet the initial run was impressive. Congratulations on the catch.
