I have gotten the point that I believe Portland, Seattle, Minneapolis, etc can burn to the ground. The voters in these cities laid the groundwork for what is happening and they deserve the results. Sometimes you reap what you sow. They are the folks who turn their nose up to the people in "flyover country" for being uneducated knuckle-dragging neanderthals, meanwhile their cities have devolved into what they are today but still feel others should follow their lead for this country.

I watched his brother testify yesterday. Must have a different father. He does not look like George.

Not a good day for the Defense. Prosecutor made their use of force expert look pretty bad.

The defense must not have many creditable witnesses as they used filler witnesses yesterday saving their better ones for last. Still, a good chance that the prosecutors will not get twelve votes.

Defense had a pretty solid day today with their one witness David Fowler, a forensic pathologist and former Maryland Medical Examiner.
He basically said that due to the number variables involved (Floyd's heart condition, drug use, etc.) that he could not determine the exact cause of death and would have shown such on the death certificate.
Prosecution didn't score many points on cross examination and those they did were rebuffed on redirect.

Not saying I agree with it but there is no way this cop gets a fair chance at getting off on these charges.
Reasonable doubt is something that is not even a thought in any of these jurors, the aftermath of what they would have to deal with if they let him go is enough to scare them I am sure.
Unless the defense can come up with some kind moment like what happened in the movie "A Time T o Kill" he will burn for this.

I think they have a very strong case for appeal if they do convict him.

Understand that Chauvin will not testify in his own defense. I wonder if that is an indication of their confidence in the outcome or an indication that Chauvin would further incriminate himself. I expected them to have increasingly creditable witnesses today and tomorrow before resting their case. I still think that it is unlikely they can get twelve to convict, at least initially. Maybe for a manslaughter conviction.

Defense Rest. Eric Chauvin not testifying. Prosecution calling 1 rebuttal witness for short testimony. Should have closing arguments and go to the jury today. Can't believe the Defense only called 2 witnesses. I won't be hiring attorney Eric Nelson if I get in a serious jam.

I cannot fathom two defense witnesses in a case like this....incredibly poor.....ineffective counsel claim almost assured

Anyone involved in criminal litigation will tell you that a criminal defendant sitting on the witness stand is a terrible idea.
And I have heard the theory that fewer defense witnesses works in their favor. The strategy is to poke holes in prosecution witnesses, then offer an alternate theory and quit while you are ahead.
