Any body ever towed their boat to California and bass fished? Got a wild hair and am collecting thoughts and ideas and opinions and experiences.
Thanks.

It would almost be safer just taking your boat down to Mexico and bass fish.

Northern California is loaded with good fisheries fairly close together.......the Delta and Clear Laje especially. Both have great ramps. I think you might have to get a quagga mussel inspection for your boatprior to fishing.

You can add Lake Berryessa to this list . All three are really good . Delta is super hard to learn ---because it's really tough to navigate . Clear Lake can be crazy good ---- but its super low this year and some places might be tough to launch .

I appreciate the quick responses. It's just an idea I'm kicking around.
Thanks again.

If you decide to hit the Delta up shoot me a PM. I'm out there almost every weekend.

Delta is where its at...but just beware of underwater obstacles in the canals up there especially when the tide is going out.

Stay away from Southern California, Boat inspection and 30 day quarantine boat has to be locked to trailer they tag it and after 30 days you can fish when your done fishing they put a new lock on, it's like the locks on your electric meter

UHHHHHH, what lakes are you fishing in So CA? That may only apply to Diamond Valley, Perris, and Lake Skinner. You could easily go and fish San V, El Cap, Hodges, etc...

If it were me, I'd just go and fish the CO river that borders CA & AZ. That place has so many hidden canals and pockets with amazing fish to boot.

Hi Pat,

I've never hauled my boat to California, but I travel there a lot and have been on Crystal Lake with a couple guides. Google "Crystal Lake Bass" and you'll see some nice fish. it's a beautiful lake surrounded by foothill and comfortable accommodations. I've caught a few 5 lber's on my short visits and looking forward to visiting again. It's just north of Napa / Sonoma so make sure you stop and partake of the wines. Good trip. Don't let the nay-sayers detract you. I'm on a mission to catch a bass in every state I travel to and California is a good place to get that job done. Looking forward to hearing what you decide.
