After all we've been through in the past year and a quarter our local High School and Junior College have the arrogance to ask for more money to the tune of a combined 197 million dollars. Could their timing possibly be worse? Really rubs me the wrong way. They can take their Bond proposal and shove it where the sun don't shine! I'll be voting NO!
One other thing, do they ever pay these things off? I've never had a reduction of my property tax in the 18 years I've lived here.
Unfortunately, it will probably pass because people don't make the effort to investigate and vote.

When I was in school we had a Coal Fired Generating Plant there so our facilities were pretty nice for the size of school.

Very little of the money ever finds its way into the classroom, most people don't realize that. I couldn’t care less about the classroom so I’m perfectly fine with that. I just need to figure out how to ensure some of it finds its way to me. Joe’s Covid money has taught me that government money is the best!

Ours had $800 million on the ballot last November. $125 million of that was for a new football stadium and two new swim facilities. Both of those failed.
The rest, $668 million, passed. New schools, land purchases, upgrades to technology, etc.

With the super hot housing market and sky rocketing home prices, it's gonna be a kick in the teeth without bond packages.
Biden famously said in the New York Observer, “I mean, you got the first mainstream African-American who is articulate and bright and clean and a nice-looking guy. I mean, that’s a storybook, man.”

Incredible amount of bloat and everything is important within the school budget.
