My mom's mother had a role number she was Choctaw. She had family that marched on the Trail of Tears.

Not eligible for BIA benefits.

Depends on each tribe and each nation.

My last wife is 100% Navajo. Thanksgiving was not a fun holiday.

We're both 1/8, so if we wanted to pursue it, there are some pretty cool benefits when you are able to prove your heritage. I looked into it once, but they don't make it easy.

It is really hard.

Many of them destroyed the records so they would not be associated with Native American's any longer. confused 3

That’s cool you got some pics JP. The wife’s Great great grandmother was 100% Cherokee, and a few generations back of mine were Shawnee and Cherokee. Unfortunately our family tree was lost after the death of one of Dads siblings who traced everything back several generations. We do have a Coat of arms as well, but it too has been lost.

I have some Cherokee on my father's side, so I guess I'm part Cherokee and Choctaw. Unfortunately, Elizabeth isn't a Chippewa.

I come from the West; my mother was full blood Yaqui from Tucson. They had the misfortune of being in that area when the Apache moved in and pretty much wiped them out. Don’t hear much about the Yaqui other than the Raquel Welch/Jim Brown film 100 Rifles that dealt with the Yaquis in Mexico and their fights with the government.

So, 50% warhoop here

I worked with a Yaqui many years ago, he was the largest man I've ever seen and I know Big Country Bryant Reeves.
He was scarred up really bad on both arms, I asked him what happened and he said anytime he ever went to a bar out west someone would want to try him and ended up in several knife fights. I doubt he ever lost one. If CCTX stood next to him it would look like me standing next to CCTX, he was a freak of nature giant.

Native American is the politically correct term.

"Any man who thinks he can be happy and prosperous by letting the government take care of him had better take a look at the American Indian".

Native American, Native, American Indian, American are all polite ways to show you are a racist or don’t know who we are. Lol. My family prefers Dakota Sioux..., but like white people, we all kinda look the same to everyone. roflmao
