Tie everything. In my opinion, the Snap Swivel impacts the action. If you must use a snap for easier change-out, use the one without the swivel...

Also, change to fluorocarbon or mono for cranks.

I was actually talking more about the Duo-Lock style, but I assume any snap styles will be fine, you may want to remove the Split Ring (or not). Just try different things and see what you personally prefer. Me, I could tie faster than trying to unhook and rebook a snap.

Lose the snap and tie direct to split ring on bait

Loose the split ring and use the Duo-Lock Snap. Best action there is.

Meh, I’ve been using speed clips in conjunction with the oval split rings, seems to be catching plenty of fish. I’m not sure there really is a wrong way, other than swivel snaps and even then, we’ve all seen someone do ok with those.

On a podcast I listen to a guy swears by the norman speed clips, I need to try them hmmm, I think I might like the look of those better, I've got some spro split rings and they are super super stronger than normal ones

Tie directly to the oval split rings...if they come with the circular ones, change them out.
