I can not seem to consistently find fish yet this year. Fishing north tx lakes, mainly raybob, abd I am not finding stacked fish in my usual places. Granted, I'm a working man and haven't gone as much as I'd mike either. This time last year, I was slaying them though.

You aren’t alone. After having a decent winter I have struggled on Raybob so far this spring. Heard reports of lots of people catching them out there, but not me. I mainly fish the west side so maybe that’s what I’m doing wrong.

I'm fishing west side too, mainly creeks. Hearing good reports but I haven't caught enough for a mess but once really.

Fish have been tough all over this spring IMO. Not sure why but it seems tougher than normal. Just got back from checking a few places I have caught them spawning in this time of year and didn't get a nibble.

I've been fishing creeks out of Ray Roberts, Grapevine, Eagle Mountain, and Lewisville out of my boat, kayak, and from the bank. Every time I've found them stacked, they've all been small males with the occasional keeper. Around 1 keeper for every 10 - 15 shorties. I fished Marshal Creek out of Grapevine yesterday evening and found 6 keepers, but they were all from 6 different spots. I've noticed that once I roll up on a spot, I'll get a lot of hits for the first few minutes, but as soon as I pull a keeper out of that spot, the fish seem to scatter. I've had the most luck tying up my boat or kayak and walking the creeks fishing from shore. Usually catching them 1 - 2 feet off the bank.
The one place where I've been consistently able to find them in deeper water is under the bridge at Buck Creek, but the wind combined with all the wakes from the boat launch near there makes it an uncomfortable place to fish for me.

Well it isn’t just me either! I guess that’s why it’s called fishing and not catching; we’ll all have to work for them this year.
