I suggest you don’t. Just keep buying them NRX rods. Go to a small shop and buy them. Southwestern parts is the best choice. Buying a high dollar rod from a big box store is asking for problems. Idiots let their kids sword fight with them...other idiots beat the tips on the racks and floors “cause dats how ya test sensitivity “! Lol. No telling how many fractures on in the rod before you run it though the register.

I have a couple of 160 dollar TFO rods I’ll take over the NRX rods if it’s all about sensitivity.

Yep, listen to the first response. Built many, and for the price you might as well buy a real good rod. It hurts allot more when you break a rod that you built. The rods available are really good, but "It's not the arrow it's the indian.". Yes you can get some extraordinary sensitive rod blanks but that doesn't put fish in the livewell. I think everybody has a feel for what type a rod they like. I can walk down the isle at any retail store and pick up a rod, give it a quick shake and immediately say (yes, no, heck no, or "Oh yeah......") I like that light as a feather, fast tip feeling for most things. But a light weight semi-glass feel for many things as well. If you check the backbone in many rods you will find the good rods are built on the backbone. The cheaper ones are built random. But for the price it is a wash, but if you throw in sime time on the slow days it is very relaxing.. A custom cross pattern is really nice to see..
You could prob buy everything, get on youtube and go to town. High end man quilting that is pretty relaxing if you need it. If you don't like to tinker, it's not for you...

I use Fenwick Techna rods. Fenwick has been building for over 100 years. They know what it takes and the rods are light. - Techna is full cork grip for $200 - World Class is split cork grip for $300
Some of mine are 30 years old and were the lightest rods build in their day. Just bought two new Techna's in Heavy for Mexico bass that are not kind to any rod.
