Probably multiple factors
Didn’t get a good night’s sleep?
Driving toward blazing rising sun?
New vehicle; maybe the gas and brake pedals are in locations he isn’t familiar
He has a recent driving history that could be referenced

Report I read also said that the data from the cars computer indicated the accelerator was depressed at 99% prior to the crash.

This is a definite possibility

I said that on the THF and they called me stupid and crazy.

You may be right, but no reason the THF couldn't be right as well.

Yeah so the same report said no sign of drugs in the car or on his person and appeared sober when he came to.

Those canyon roads in So. Cal are winding and dangerous if you are going the speed limit. I have had brakes get hot and start to fail they are so steep... thats at the speed limit. I cant imagine going almost 90 on one of those roads in the family wagon looking thing that he was driving.

Reports since the day of the crash that the section he was driving is known for high speed because it’s so steep and windy, like people get careless and don’t realize they are going 80 in a 45 and wreck all the time. There is also a bailout lane there because it happens so frequently. Sounds like a very dangerous stretch of road. No excuse, but apparently a lot of people have trouble with that stretch.

As for the toxicology report, he was definitely on drugs. He was recovering from back surgery and, the day before, at the tournament he was hosting, he did a TV interview and looked and sounded like he was on something. I’m still shocked his people let him on TV like that, that’s how bad it was.

I read this article from David Chao, former Chargers team doctor and now he explains injuries athletes suffer on Twitter and Outkick. I don’t know if this is true (or why it would be, because I presume toxicology reports can differentiate between drugs found in your system) but I find it interesting:

https://www.outkick.com/david-chao-md-there-will-be-no-surprise-tox-screen-for-tiger-woods/

Quote
In my medical experience, when a patient is trapped with a crush type injury as Woods’ right leg was, it is routine for the paramedic to administer medication at the scene prior to extricating with the “jaws of life.” or other tools.

I confirmed my thoughts with a fire battalion chief who stated the chances were “very high” that in a circumstance like Woods’, the victim would get morphine or other narcotic medication administered. This is done to be compassionate due to the pain but also to calm the patient while he/she is freed and when he/she becomes unpinned the process of moving the victim can be very painful given the multiple fractures and crush injury.

Once medication is administered, any tox screen for legal purposes becomes null and void.

He definitely seems to be getting some preferential treatment by the sheriff’s department, which I’m sure happens a lot in that part of the country, which is wrong on a few levels.

A billion percent agree he should have a personal driver. It’s ridiculous that he doesn’t have one, as a near-billionaire. Or why Genesis, who loaned him the car and hosted the tournament that week and is one of his biggest sponsors, wouldn’t just have someone drive him around that week.

That is the report. The car's computer recorded no actuation of the brake pedal before or during the crash, but did detect 99% throttle depression. Dude should be cited for speeding and reckless driving.

May you be treated the way you treat other people, today and everyday!

can they write tickets using the computer as evidence he was speeding or does it have to be witnessed by a police officer using radar or pursuit?

Yeah if I was a baller and famous I would have a driver/security guard. Like a secret service type. He can afford it...

They dont even need the computer data.

If you hit a pole and tear of the front of the car in a 35mph zone the Police can use common sense and the evidence of the wreck to estimate your speed and cite you. If you ripped of the front of the car you were not going 35. Here is your ticket.

Tiger has it bad enough already. He will be fighting with pain the rest of his life. A very very bad accident indeed. I think his professional golf days are over. He by far is the GREATEST Golfer ever. cheers

So would it make you all feel better if he got a speeding ticket for 500 bucks, I'm sure he could care less. People like that arent like us. It is what it is.

You allow that over there?
