Had 2 pairs of 580G shed the rubber pieces.

Short version...

Did online warranty claim....

Got a quick response and almost accepted the replacements without researching

They were trying to replace with same frames but Plastic lenses.

Said others were out of stock

Had to chat online because you cannot reach a human

I was promised if I accepted the offer they would not send Plastic and instead they would send codes to order new 580G

Guess what....they sent Plastic

Had to chat again and was instructed I would have to send the others back and they would send codes. I had to get firm and they sent me one code but the other was delayed in email and it would arrive shortly.

Waited a few hours and had to go through the chat again....that person got tired of my griping and sent the second code on the chat.

Used the codes and I am still awaiting tracking info on the new ones...any guess what my frames and glass lenses were in stock

Just a HEADS UP....if you have glass lenses. CHECK WHAT THEY OFFER IN THE REPLACEMENT

I sent 2 pairs back last July and they are history. I have a tracking number that says they received them but they said they didn't. Sales rep will not return calls or text...All that and I'm a dealer.

That sucks. I have sent multiple pairs back and have never had a problem. Always got exact replacements no questions asked.

I have as well but I believe they got bought out and their service isn't as good as it once was?

Man. Total opposite of my warranty experience with them years ago. I don’t like this at all.

Yes, they are now under the Luxottica brand and are not what they used to be. They aren't alone Ray-Ban, Oakley and alot of designer brands i..e. Prada, Coach, Chanel etc. Are also Luxottica products and their customer service doesn't seem to be a high priority like it used to be with Costa.

I’ve had nothing but good experiences from costa have many pairs of tuna alleys 580G and have done many of warranty claims issue free over the years. I know they are fickle about the rubber pieces and the hinges, but always been told just pay I think it was $35 within a week had another pair sitting in my mail box.

Costa was bought by Lux. Anytime a small customer focused company is acquired by the largest in the world, things are going to change. This is one of them.

Also, why would you ever want glass lenses in sunglasses? They are heavier, they can shatter on impact and they are not any clearer than poly. People that want glass lenses always surprise me.

Because glass is better for your eyes

Main reason is glass is more resistant to scratching.

customer service as a whole in America is almost non-existent anymore. Sad deal.
