Is it just me or do these techniques hardly ever play in professional fishing. Seems the only Tx rigging is usually a pegged flipping set up. You never see a pro dragging a power worm around or much C-rigging. Is Tx rigging and C-rigging old school?

However when at the local lakes, it’s about all you see the casual fisherman doing......

Dustin Connell caught quite a few of his fish on Rayburn throwing a C-Rig.

Don’t remember who posted it, but not long ago one of the Bass Tank guys did a study of pro level tournaments and showed what percentage were won offshore and what baits were most prevalent on wins. I think we also have to recognize that the “Winning baits/techniques” aren’t always the truth.

I think a guy on you tube did a video about this, might have been fish the moment, I'll have to see if I can find it and post it here

Yea it was FTM!

I catch too many fish on it when nothing else works to think that the pros who are tons better than me dont do the same. Kinda going back to the spike it thread.....i have a feeling the baits we hear about have more to do with what the sponsors want the winning baits to be than what they actually were. I remember when I started bassin everyone in bass media/pros would kinda talk down about fairy wands/spinning reels...but the more you watch the live streams the more you seem to see spinning tackle in the pros hands often. Hell I remember Feider winning his tourney on a Rapala DT.....despite the fact that he was clearly throwing an OSP Blitz.

So yea, im not buying that people arent catching with TRigs or carolina rigs. Two specific presentations that are effective and havent been really replaced imo....so they gotta get used often. I also figure live streams arent relly wanting to follow a guy dragging a ball and chain, and would rather see some power fishing, swimbaiting, or flipping instead....that probably has something to do wtih it to

^^^^ they follow who is doing well in the tournament and you never see the dragging of TX rigs and C-rigs.... drop shot seems to have taken over the off shore worming.

Yea, this is the one I was thinking of. Pretty interesting stuff, guy definitely gathered a ton of data.

And to MB - I think techniques cycle. Every couple of years you’ll see them all throwing a certain technique and say “this is old school”. I do think in recent years there’s been a ton more spinning/finesse stuff, and when it comes to shallow I feel like swim jigs have almost made T-rig an after thought at their level. Can’t say how long it has been since I’ve seen a pro tossing around a zoom lizard...
