I used popper and fluke on tx(depend on wind direction) . Look like they finished fixing generators. Water is below 1.24ft. Water temp is not effective fishing below dam.

Is it worth fishing the dam when the generators aren't running? I was going to head up there tomorrow (Tuesday 03/01/21) but the schedule doesn't show any planned generation.

Am I reading this right they are releasing water at Denison now? Not sure how much 6400 CFS is but I know 20,000 is almost too fast to fish ha.

Fishes are there when gates opened , must find their spots and use right rigs for different water cfs.

6400 CFS isn't bad. 10,000 CFS is do-able. I wouldn't even try fishing in 20,000 CFS.

Can someone help clarify the regulations at the dam? Does it fall under statewide of 5@ 18” or the Texoma regulations of 10 with no length other than 2 over 20”?.. I can’t seem to find a good map with the boundaries. Also, I’ve seen several kept that didn’t appear to be anywhere close to 18”.

Went last night and wasn’t too packed. Caught a couple on rattle traps.. nothing hitting flukes. Also caught 2 drum on a crank bait.. first for me. We saw one guy catch a 20+ lbs cat on a spinner bait, but other than that, it was pretty slow..

Below the dam on the Texas side the limit of stripers is 5 of any size. The limit that you referenced applies to the lake side of the dam.

It's under TPWD Exceptions to the Freshwater Harvest Regulations for the Red River - see Fishing Regulations for Red River.
