I recently heard on several podcast with MLF and Elite series guys saying spike it is old school and don't work? So do you dye the tail of your softbaits?

When I think about it I do.

Sometimes, can’t prove that it helps, but it’s easy enough to do.

ive dipped the tail on a senko too many times for me to not think it makes some difference. Does spikeit sponsor any of those guys.........just sayin. jordan lee tells me berkley the best now, even though he told me he would always "tie one on" with strike king a few years ago

i really think that has more to do with it than anything. FWIW...less is more when it comes to dye in my opinion. For example swimbaits....if the bottles low, ill dump some into the lid so i can just get the very bottom side of the boot, versus dipping the whole tail. been using the markers from academy a lot more recently and a big fan of them so far due to the control. lets see how they do in the summer heat and if they pop.

Man, I use spike it everytime I go out almost, I truly think it works.

Even if it does not work any better for getting more bites it sure gives me confidence when using it so its worth it to me.

I do mine, can't prove it but I feel like I catch more with them dipped than not. I honestly think it's mostly a confidence thing, if it helps your confidence then you will catch more fish.

I do dip tails on jigs and worms on occasion. Not seen enough evidence to prove its effective.

I have noticed around spawn times dying the tail actually gets their attention specially if they are guarding fry.

I think Hank Cherry was dipping his jig trailer to catch a kicker that helped him alot for the classic.

It works, plus they may say it's old school but you know those guys have been using it for years also, why would it all of a sudden become outdated? The fish don't know its old school

It definitely works from first hand experience. Always a time and place for something just a little different.
