hi everyone! My name is Danial, and I am the president of the Memorial Highschool fishing team, down in Frisco. Im trying to get the team tournament ready for 2021-2022 season, however we're struggling to find a boating captain and local businesses for sponsors. if anyone has advice, or is available to sponsor or become a boating captain, it will be greatly appreciated! thanks in advance!

Danial,
I wish I was up your way to help, but I'm way down in Montgomery. Do you follow THSBA on Facebook? I know they are on TFF, but they respond quickly to Facebook messages. You could also post there about looking for a captain. I would get your team together and start knocking on doors or local businesses looking for sponsors. Banks, feed stores, real estate agents, boat dealers, restaurants, construction companies, etc. It's not easy. I'm happy to hear that your getting a team together and planning to fish next year! Feel free to message me if I can be of any help. I can share the sponsorship form we use, etc.
Bryan.

Our local adults bass clubs have been a good resource for boat captains. In your area you have Collin County Bass Club and McKinney Bass Club but there are several others in the Dallas area. Because of the Safe Sport Act, it's always a good idea to have a couple of backup captains certified in reserve just in case of breakdowns or scheduling conflicts.
With Frisco being pretty affluent and this being your inaugural year, maybe you forego the sponsors and just collect dues that cover the expected costs like the tournament fees which should run about $150 per angler for the THSBA regular season. You can also go with silkscreened dri-fit shirts for about $25-30 or custom fishing jerseys at upwards of $100. Just ask the parents if they'd rather pays dues, hustle for sponsors, or hold a couple of fundraiser events.
Good luck next year!
