A very close friend of mine had an accident on the night of the 21st/morning of the 22nd and ended up in JPS. After reading what his injuries were (he sent me a list), I was, and still am, amazed he survived. ..truly God had to have intervened. JPS is a darn good trauma hospital. Truly, they are some of the best for these types of deals, even though he was much closer to 2 other hospitals, they made the right choice.

I was able to go see him today to do some assessments and work with his PT on some treatments. While I was there, the nurse came in and apologized that she was a bit late with his medications....apparently shortly before I arrived there was a commotion and 3 of the nurses were punched in the face by a patient. eeks Last night, the patient next door started screaming at the nurses (things I cannot post here) and throwing things at them.

Hopefully my friend will be able to go to either a Skilled Nursing Facility or inpatient rehab soon.

JPS is good for traumas, but that place is freaking scary!

Best trauma center in tarrant co. I understand they send out people to collect the gang bangers dropped on the regular.

Yes, as crazy as it is there it is a very good hospital-

My daughter is an ER nurse, she was at Parkland ER for five years or so.
Man, the stories she told-

It’s like Ratz’s friend type things there every day.

What has happed to you does not define who you are-

HOW you react to what happens to you DOES!

If you're ever in deep kimchi in a medical way and you're in Ft. Worth, go to JPS.
If you're in Dallas, go to Parkland.

I worked with an eccentric (just plain weird) surgeon that was a true genius but he would lie in wait for nurses that called it Cook’s ChIldren and from then out they learned it was Cook Childrens.

My niece is and has been a charge nurse in the ER - what a saint she is!!! Amazingly difficult job especially through the past year. So happy to read this story - she and her team rock it every day! Praying for your friend!

Whether you think you can or you can't, you are probably right.

I've been through both JPS and Parklands er. Both give amazing care, but both are wild as hell and nuts.
