Did you just compare a BASS video game with Scott Martin on the cover to the Madden video game, which sells millions of units a year and is licensed from the most popular sport in the country?

What can you say, I guess it's like a trail that never had a championship but called it bigger than the classic.

I can't get into video games anymore, but I could see it being fun. Imagine if it has grand theft auto type features if people fish in your spots, aaron britt mode to clip those corners on take-off. All kinds of good stuff...lol.


Kidding aside I bet its a neat game.

Saw Scott Martin post something about it on FB. All the other fishing games out there are pretty lame, hopefully this one will turn out to be good!

Why, yes I did, yes I did. Anyone who doesn’t see the high potential for this and the absolute grand slam, out of the ball park hit, is either blind or very closed minded.

The first thing they did right was not let EA Sports be the developer. The second thing they did right was to get someone like Scott Martin to be the inaugural face of the game. A marketing guru the guy is. The third thing they’ve done was all in the timing. It’s been years since a “new” well known sporting franchise/brand has hit the gaming market. NFL, NBA, NHL, MLB, etc... have all been around for years starting with primitive graphics and mechanics... this is coming out now that gaming design and mechanics is highly advanced and if this project is designed and executed correctly it could be one of the hot sellers for the 2021 x-mas season. I can imagine a cross between Tiger Woods Golf & iRacing from a gameplay detail level where there are detailed maps of all the waterways and surrounding boundaries that they visit. Where there will also be a store to buy (with in game currency) all the latest fishing gear and equipment. The player can do career mode and start at the BASS Nation levels and work his way up the ladder, OR be an established angler already in the Elites.

If BASS did things right, and I have no reason to believe they didn’t; They will have reserved the right to have complete control over the brands and names that get inserted into the game for the fishing destinations, equipment, and sponsorships for the anglers. And anglers who appear in the game itself will get some sort of royalty payments.

This is huge, and I would even go as far as saying this is bigger than the Fox Sports LIVE TV deal!

The Sega days - the cover demonstrates the massive amount of misrepresentation from developer marketing that has gone on in the gaming industry. A pixel level game depicted as it is on the cover... got to love it. How many more years after that has “BASS” had a branded game on the market?
